TESTIMONIALS FROM CLIENTS
"WORKING WITH MARCEL WAS A REMINDER TO ME OF THE JOY AND PURITY OF ARTISTIC COLLABORATION. MARCEL SET OUT TO UNDERSTAND EVERY DETAILED LAYER AND LYRIC OF MY SONG WHICH ALLOWED HIM TO CREATE BEAUTIFULLY BESPOKE SET WORLDS THAT WERE AUTHENTIC AND TRUE TO MY VISION FOR THIS MUSIC VIDEO. NOT ONLY IS MARCEL AN INCREDIBLY GIFTED ARTIST AND SET DESIGNER, HE WAS AN INVALUABLE ASSET TO THE TEAM IN PRE PRODUCTION AND A POSITIVE, LIGHT-FILLED PRESENCE ON SET. IT WAS A PRIVILEGE TO WORK AND COLLABORATE WITH SOMEONE OF MARCELβS CALIBRE.β

"MARCEL WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND IN HIS ROLE AS PRODUCTION DESIGNER ON VIV'S SILLY MANGO. EVEN WITH A LARGE SCOPE TO ATTACK AND LIMITED RESOURCES TO WORK WITH, MARCEL MANAGED TO CREATE A VIBRANT AND LIVED-IN WORLD GROUNDED IN CULTURAL SPECIFICITY. HIS WORK TRULY ELEVATED OUR FILM AND HONOURED MY COLOURFUL AND TEXTURED VISION AS A DIRECTOR. MARCEL'S MULTI-SKILLED APPROACH IS A HUGE ASSET TO THE PROJECTS HE WORKS ON; OPERATING AT THE INTERSECTION OF DEDICATION, ENTHUSIASM AND HEART."
RACHEL MAXINE, DIRECTOR/WRITER - ON VIVβS SILLY MANGO
"MARCEL WAS A KEY CREATIVE ON THE GRAPHICS TEAM, CREATING HERO PROPS THAT FIT INTO THE WORLD OF YOUNG ROCK. HE USED HIS PHOTOGRAPHY AND PHOTO COMPOSITING SKILLS WITH HIS GRAPHIC DESIGN KNOWLEDGE TO COME UP WITH CREATIVE SOLUTIONS FOR SETS AND PROPS THAT WE WANTED TO CREATE. FROM DOING A PHOTOSHOOT WITH THE SHOGUN WARRIORS FOR PHOTO ASSETS USED TO CREATE THE PACKAGING, TO COMPOSITING LIA INTO A NURSERY FOR A VFX SHOT, WE COULD RELY ON MARCEL TO PRODUCE HIGH QUALITY GRAPHIC PRODUCTS FOR THE SHOW. MARCEL'S TALENT IS ONLY MATCHED BY HIS WORK ETHIC, WHICH IS UNPARALLELED, AND HIS COLLABORATIVE SKILLS WHICH REALLY MADE HIM AN IRREPLACEABLE PART OF OUR ART DEPARTMENT TEAM."

DESIGN PROCESS
-
We get on a call and discuss budget, pay for myself or any of my crew needed for the job, scope of the design, and see if we are the right fit for each other.
Productions under tight deadlines will be charged a rush fee depending on budget.
A deposit is required before any design work starts.
-
After being confirmed I will do in depth research on the look and aesthetic of the desired designs and I will start to put together a look book or design document together of how I can execute the desired look..
I will look for ways to push the design and see what has been produced in the past in the same industry/environment.
-
Depending on the timeline of the production or project, designs can take up to 1-2 weeks. The design can and will evolve to suit the production or project better. In this stage we will look at the project as a whole and see what we can do to elevate the impact of the design.
Before finalising any designs I will send a rough draft before polishing and rendering the design. During this process the agreed amount of revsions will be applied.
-
After the final design is confirmed (depending on production or project) I will send through the design files:
GRAPHIC DESIGN: After final revisions have been confirmed a graphics package will be sent through email to a google drive with all the hi-res PDFβs and PNG files of the final design project.
No photoshop or illustrator files will be sent through. Any changes or updates to the designs after the final handover will needed to be re-negotiated or a fee will have to be paid at an agreed amount.
PRODUCTION/EVENT/VENUE: After confiming and sending through the finalised designs. I will work with my team to realise the design. This stage I will work with the venue manager and the team to make sure bump-in runs smoothly and myself and my team have the information and resources to be able to have an easy transition to the set/venue.
